Video – Biometrics Series: Automatic Video Enrollment in Action — Capturing Consumer Facial Biometrics

An important and emerging area of facial recognition tech is “Passive Inspection Point” tech. This means the technology automatically captures consumers’  face prints as they move through public spaces like malls and on city streets. This video showcases current technology by Accenture that can automatically collect and enroll consumers’ facial biometrics from many angles. In this video, the sales rep talks about how people in public spaces, for example, passing by on escalators, can be auto-enrolled in a biometric database and identified in this way. This technology can be used in multiple public and private spaces. We shot this video in London at the 2013 Biometrics conference, where the world’s leading biometrics experts convened.

This specific technology by Accenture was discussed at the US Department of Commerce’s NTIA multistakeholder process on Feb. 6, 2014.
