WPF Deputy Director to present AI Governance tools research regarding measurement of content authenticity in keynote speech

WPF Deputy Director Kate Kaye will present her ongoing research regarding AI Governance in Los Angeles on November 12, 2024 in a keynote talk “Deep fakes, AI, and the Era of Content Authenticity” at the CIMM West event in Los Angeles, a gathering of around 200 media and advertising industry data measurement and analytics professionals. Kaye will discuss emerging developments in AI Governance trends, approaches to measuring content authenticity, and safeguarding against exposure of sensitive data.

The event will serve as an important forum for WPF to share and discuss our ongoing research on synthetic content policy as it relates to privacy and data and AI governance. The event will also serve as a way to inform this research by gleaning knowledge from practitioners implementing AI Governance Tools on the ground in real-life situations.

This research follows on the extensive work documented in the WPF report Risky Analysis: An international review of AI Governance Tools and suggestions for pathways forward, co – authored by Kate Kaye and Pam Dixon, published 15 December 2023. Additional work this year by Kaye has taken a closer look at on-the-ground implementations of AI governance in Chile, Canada, and elsewhere in WPF’s AI Governance on the Ground article series and in our Privacy on the Ground podcasts.
