National Association of Attorneys General, WPF presentation on big data and privacy

WPF Executive Director will be speaking at the National Association of Attorneys General Southern Regional meeting, hosted by Southern Region Chair Alabama Attorney General Strange on March 12-13, 2015. Dixon will be a speaker on the panel, “Big Data and Privacy: Striking a Balance.”

The NAAG Southern Region Meeting will focus on The Surge in Data Breaches: Challenges for Attorneys General as well as big data challenges. The meeting will be held at Marriott Grand Hotel: Point Clear Resort & Spa on Thursday, March 12, 2015 and Friday, March 13, 2015. The meeting will be open to NAAG members in addition to other interested parties. The conference will address such issues as the anatomy of a data breach, the fine balance between big data and privacy and data breach notification laws and the push for tougher legislative penalties. It will also examine developing cybersecurity threats, including those posed by the use of BYOD policies and by storing data in the cloud.
